Azure Government Migration

Our customer developed an innovative augmented reality (AR) remote maintenance solution through SBIR work with their federal partners. The platform enables personnel at remote locations, aboard ships or at austere bases, to receive real-time engineering assistance from subject matter experts at depots and Fleet Readiness Centers. 

The proof-of-concept validated the technical approach and demonstrated clear operational value. Advancing to the next phase of the program required deploying to Azure Government infrastructure, aligning with Well-Architected Framework standards, and architecting for portability to higher classification environments. The customer brought us in to deliver on these requirements.

Infrastructure as Code All infrastructure is defined and managed through Terraform, enabling repeatable deployments, version-controlled configuration, and consistent environments across regions. This approach supports rapid iteration while maintaining the strict change control required for government systems.

Cloud Architecture We designed a modern, event-driven architecture aligned with Azure's Well-Architected Framework, optimized for real-time collaboration workloads. The solution is deployed across multiple Azure Government regions, providing geographic redundancy and operational resilience.

We successfully transitioned the platform from proof-of-concept to production-ready in one year, deploying across dual Azure Government regions. The platform now actively supports Navy maintenance operations. What began as a focused infrastructure engagement has evolved into an ongoing partnership—we've been maintaining and enhancing the solution for the past two years. The architecture was designed with portability in mind, and the program is currently in discussions for deployment to Azure Flank Speed (IL5) environments. Most recently, the solution was announced as a finalist for the 2025 DOW Maintenance Innovation Challenge.
